Apartment search - OVER

Woo hoo I'm back to normal life! Last weekend I got to start my apartment search. We headed out in the rain - sharing an umbrella and looked at about 8 apartments before finding the tiny 500 square foot space that we will call home. It is a prewar building in astoria right in the middle of all the excitement (which means I can walk a quarter mile to my favorite bagel place). The great news is that the apartment was completely gutted and is in the process of being refinished as we speak. We got to see another recently refurbished apartment in the building to see what it will look like but my favorite part is that there will be EXPOSED BRICK. Here are some pictures during construction. We get the keys on the 20th at the very latest.

To celebrate our apartment win we decided to cross something off our bucket list and poach some eggs on Sunday. I wont lie to you - I was extremely successful at it and it was the best eggs benedict I've ever had. I realize that probably sounds like sarcasm but I assure you  - its not.

I'll throw in a picture of the octopus tentacle we ate last weekend for good measure. This is from celebrating my big news last weekend with Mike who is currently away on a work retreat. Come back and hang out with me already!
